Yr 11s start their study leave on Tuesday 29th May.
Dear Parent / Guardian
I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for students in Year 11.
Students officially start their study leave on Tuesday 29th May 2012. This means they must still attend school, in full Academy uniform, for all lessons in which they still have to complete an exam, until they have taken the final exam in that subject.
The Year 11 students this year have been excellent and it has been a pleasure to work with them, particularly over the last few weeks and months. I hope they continue to work hard as they all deserve to do well.
Conditions of study leave are listed below. Any non-compliance will mean the student coming back into school full time until the exam period is over:
a) Full school uniform must be worn at all times, especially for exams
b) Students must attend all lessons, until they have taken the final exam in that subject
c) Students must attend all exams they have been entered for and complete the warm-up sessions which are crucial preparation for the exams
d) At the present time, exams are still to be taken in the following subjects; Maths, Additional Science and Core Science re-takes, Religious Studies, History, Geography, Media Studies, German, Sociology, Health and Social Care, Textiles, Statistics and Film Studies
e) Students must come to school prepared to revise and learn, not socialise, and must leave the school site promptly if going home
There will be a warm-up session before every exam, starting at 8.45am for morning exams and 12.45pm for afternoon exams. It is vital that students attend these sessions.
Finally, I would like to wish all students good luck with their exams, which are so important for progression to further education and future careers.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to ask any member of the Academy staff.
Yours faithfully
Mrs N Graham
Head of School
