Admissions
Applications for places will be made in accordance with Local Authority admission arrangements and will be made on the Authorities application form available from the following website: http://www.thurrock.gov.uk/education/schools/content.php?page=admissions. The Academy will work to the common admissions timetable agreed by Thurrock Local Authority.
The Harris Academy Chafford Hundred intends to admit 180 students each year.
In the event of there being more applications for places at the Academy than there are places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority.
1. Children in Public Care will automatically be given first consideration above all categories of priority.
2. Pupils resident in the priority admissions area (catchment area) of Harris Academy Chafford Hundred in the following order of priority.
a) Pupils who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the date of admission (In Years 7 – 10) and who will continue to do so
b) Pupil’s resident within the priority admission area.
3. Residence outside the priority admissions area of Harris Academy in the following priority:
a) Pupils who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the date of admission (In Years 7 – 10) and who will continue to do so
b) Pupils living closest to school
Note: Harris Academy Chafford Hundred is the designated Children, Education and Families Resource Base for speech and language children who have a full statement of special needs. These children are not included in the school’s published admission limit.
Admissions Appeals
The final deadline for Admissions Appeals for Year 7 2013 intake is 5pm on 16th April 2013. Appeals should be made in writing to Mrs Graham, Principal, Harris Academy Chafford Hundred, Mayflower Road, Chafford Hundred, Grays, Essex RM16 6SA. Appeals will be heard in June 2013.
