Topic:

Social Influence Studies (Asch, Zimbardo and Milgram)

 

Expected outcome:

One page of notes per study

Task:

  1. In Psychology, you are expected to have detailed knowledge of a range of studies. The first topic that you will study in September is ‘Social Influence’. Your task over the summer is to research three of the main studies in this topic. You will need to include the aim, method, results, and a conclusion for each. The studies are:
  • Asch’s research into conformity
  • The Stanford Prison Experiment by Zimbardo
  • Milgram’s research into obedience

 

2. In September, you will also be studying ‘Research Methods’. Throughout your A-level, you will need to successfully apply research methods knowledge to real life scenarios/studies. Over the summer, your second task is to apply research methods knowledge to the studies listed above. Please find out the below research information for each study, and complete the following table:
