Isabella Elliott of Year 8 goes for gold in the National Boxing Championships
Izzy is a keen boxer who got involved in the sport through her Dad who was an amateur boxer himself.
Initially she used pads and from there got into fully-fledged boxing. In the last year Izzy has become hooked, especially when it became obvious she had natural ability and real enthusiasm for the sport.
Izzy goes to a boxing gym in Chadwell St Mary 4 times a week. Her routine there includes running to keep up her fitness levels as well as lots of boxing. She keeps an eye on her diet to ensure she is fit and healthy.
On 20th October, Izzy will be taking part in a fight before the national championships, which are happening early next year. She has a very good chance of winning it (If all goes to plan)! This would make Izzy the Number 1 fighter in the country for her age, weight and experience. Winning would also give her the opportunity of representing England at the European championships late next year.
Good luck Izzy. We will be keeping our fingers crossed for you.
