Latest Awards and Recognition
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg awarded The Academy a prestigious national award on 25th March at a ceremony at Draper's Hall in London. The ceremony and awards dinner was attended by 230 colleagues from 27 schools around the country who had been invited due to outstanding success with disadvantaged pupils.
Mrs Graham, Principal, accepted one of only 7 such awards nationally from the Deputy Prime Minister as part of the 2014 National Pupil Premium Awards.
The award follows a letter from the Rt Hon David Laws MP advising that our academy is one of the top achieving schools in the country for attainment and progress of disadvantaged pupils and a subsequent visit to the Academy by Sir William Atkinson.

This follows the announcement by the DfE of our record, highest ever Value Added figure of 1072 for our 2014 GCSE results. This achievement places the Academy in the top 1% of non selective secondary schools in the country for the progress of its pupils.
