Dear Parents / Carers,

We are hosting our annual Careers and Higher Education Fair here at Harris Academy Chafford Hundred on Wednesday 23^rd January 2019 from 5.30pm – 8pm. The event is a fantastic informational experience for students and parents, showcasing a wide range of colleges, sixth forms and universities as well as apprenticeship providers and a host of local and national employers and future career opportunities. This event is aimed at all students, but primarily from years 9 – 13, to provide them with as much information as possible so that they are fully informed of the range of choices and opportunities available to them in their next stage of life in either education or employment. 

To ensure students and parents are as informed as possible, I am asking if any parents (or their colleagues at work) who feel they could offer information and advice in their chosen careers pathways could be available to host a drop-in stand during the event. You do not need to prepare anything but just be available to answer any questions about your career, such as level and type of qualifications needed, type of work, average working day, how you got into this field of work, etc. I would like to be able to provide as wide a variety of careers as possible for our students to consider and would greatly appreciate your help and expertise to do so.
