Year 9 Options
Why are Year 9 Options Important?
At HACH we exist to provide our children with an education that ensures both great achievements and a good character.
Making informed options decisions is fundamental to making sure we can meet these goals because:
•Many GCSE subjects rely on a strong foundation built in KS3 – we want to provide you with all of the information you need to make informed decisions that play to your academic strengths.
•These options should pave the way for your A-Level and Degree choices; they are part of your HACH 7-year journey and your higher education and career choices.
•This is an opportunity to take responsibility for future you. But, it’s also key to consider which subjects you bring out your zest, which will require the most grit, which you feel most confident in tackling. Be kind to your future self in the choices you make.
•The importance of these options sometimes means we will need to have difficult conversations. It’s crucial your teachers are realistic; we’re doing it to help you make the best choices for your future.
