Remote Learning
Remote Learning
At Harris Academy Chafford Hundred, we are committed to ensuring that students can continue their learning successfully if circumstances require education to take place remotely.
Should remote learning be necessary, students will be expected to engage with learning materials and activities provided by the Academy. Our approach is designed to provide continuity, maintain high academic standards and support students in making sustained progress in all subjects.
Accessing Learning Resources
Students will be directed to use the Academy's online learning platforms, including:
- The Knowledge Organiser website, which provides key knowledge, vocabulary and retrieval activities to support long-term learning.
- The Curriculum website, where students can access curriculum overviews, learning materials and subject-specific resources.
- Additional resources and tasks provided by subject teachers, where appropriate.
Communication with Teachers
Students will continue to receive guidance and support from their teachers during any period of remote learning.
Communication may take place through:
- Microsoft Teams
- Academy email
The method of communication used will be determined by the Academy and communicated clearly to students and families. Students should check their Academy email account regularly and ensure that they engage with messages and resources provided by their teachers.
Student Expectations
Students are expected to:
- Complete learning activities set by their teachers.
- Engage regularly with the Knowledge Organiser and Curriculum websites.
- Check Teams and/or email daily for updates and instructions.
- Meet any deadlines provided by staff.
- Seek support from their teachers if they are unsure about any aspect of their learning.
Working Together
We recognise the importance of strong partnerships between students, families and staff. If remote learning is required, we will continue to provide clear guidance and regular communication to ensure that every student can access high-quality education and remain connected to the Academy community.
