Year 9 Options

At HACH we want to ensure that all students and families feel confident and informed about making their GCSE options.

We encourage students to be in dialogue with their teachers about their options throughout KS3. 

If students are interested in studying a subject at GCSE which is not part of the KS3 curriculum, they should talk to teachers of this new subject to get a feel for what's on offer at GCSE. 

Options Event 2026

Ms Oakley (HoY 9) will be hosting an Options Event on Thursday 15th January 2026 from 5pm - 6:30pm. 

At this event families and students will be able to:

1. Talk to subject leaders about what to expect from each subject at GCSE. 
2. Hear from students about their experience studying a range of GCSE subjects. 
3. Understand any entry requirements for certain subjects. 
4. Know the options blocks and the possible choices their child could make.
