HACH English Teacher

“In all the other schools I've been to or visited, you very much stay within your own department, but it's not like that here at all. It's not just work; it's more about being there for each other and supporting each other.”

“Being a part of the HACH Circle is about us all being there for each other—both staff and students. Saying hello in the corridors, doing things together, going on trips, and having days out. It's about more than just education; it's about a community as well.

I think what makes HACH different when it comes to teaching is the amount we put into it. A lesson is never just a lesson; it's always one step closer to an opportunity for a child, regardless of who they are or what they want in life. We strive so hard to make every lesson memorable and to make every lesson count.

If I were to say something to someone looking to apply or come here, I'd talk about the community. In all the other schools I've been to or visited, you very much stay within your own department, but it's not like that here at all. Everyone's always having lunch together—staff from different departments, support staff, and teachers. We have lots of conversations about all sorts of things. It's not just work; it's more about being there for each other and supporting each other. That goes across the whole school, not just with the people in your department. You always feel like you've got someone there, even if it's just a small question about something you're not sure of. So, if you were to start here and not know what's going on, you could ask anyone, and they would be more than willing to help.”
